Well, the way I see it is it’s best to be completely honest no matter what. It may sound weird to feel nervous around someone but it’s totally not. Some people just get nervous around someone that they like or find attractive. For instance, the person I’m talking to knows I’m shy anyway, but it’s even moreso around them, haha. So I was just like, “look, this is complicated, and I’m going to be nervous for some time. So…please be patient.” and I was really saying it as a joke, but also serious.
So, my advice would be to just say it flat out, and if you can’t do that make light hearted the situation. I hope it works out. Good luck :) <3
